The Band 6 Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) position at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital involves supporting the Senior Nurse Manager in ensuring safe and efficient anaesthetic and recovery practices within the Cardiac Catheter Laboratories (Cath Labs). The role includes serving as a clinical resource to enhance the skills of the cath lab nursing team, conducting comprehensive patient assessments, and coordinating care for those undergoing cardiovascular procedures. The ODP will also provide sedation during specific procedures, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and maintain meticulous patient records in compliance with relevant policies.

Additionally, the successful candidate will play a vital role in the training and development of team members, contributing to an effective clinical learning environment while acting as a mentor to students and newly qualified practitioners. The position requires a proactive approach to recognizing and responding to emergencies and a commitment to upholding patient confidentiality and data protection principles.
