The role of a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist at the Oxfordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Unit (OSRU) in Abingdon focuses on improving the quality of life for individuals recovering from strokes. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a 20-bed inpatient unit, providing assessment and therapy for patients with communication and swallowing difficulties. They will collaborate closely with colleagues, oversee clinical caseloads, design therapy programs, and facilitate group sessions. Opportunities for professional development, staff training, and participation in service improvement projects are encouraged, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practices.

Applicants should be experienced Band 5 clinicians with a particular interest in inpatient stroke rehabilitation, especially in managing dysphagia. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, and some cross-site working may be required. A valid UK driving license is essential, and reasonable adjustments will be made in alignment with the Equality Act 2010.
