The role of General Practitioner at Parkstone, within the Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust, is a full-time position primarily focused on providing primary care services in Herm and St Brelades wards, which cater to elderly patients with organic mental health conditions, many of whom have complex health issues and may be detained under the Mental Health Act. The GP will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Advanced Practitioners and nursing staff, to manage common medical conditions such as heart failure, COPD, and diabetes and will also provide medical cover for Alderney Hospital inpatients.

Key responsibilities include overseeing patient care, participating in ward rounds, and maintaining accurate clinical records. The GP will develop treatment plans in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team and ensure appropriate monitoring and escalation of treatment as necessary. Flexibility in working arrangements is considered, and candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Rodi Karadimova for further information regarding the position.
