Job Summary: Registrar in Critical Care with an Interest in Ultrasound
Location: Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital (BNHH), Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Preferred Start Date: February 5, 2025 (negotiable)
Duration: 6 months, potentially extendable to 12 months

The role involves providing critical care for patients, including complex surgical and cardiology cases, in a department equipped with advanced ultrasound technology. You will participate in daily assessments, management of ICU/HDU patients, and perform various invasive procedures under supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing critical care patients as part of a senior clinical team.
  • Attending emergency calls and performing related procedures.
  • Collaborating with various departments for patient admissions.
  • Gaining and applying ultrasound skills across multiple modules with up to 10% protected time for skill development.

The working hours will include a rota covering nights and weekends, ensuring compliance with the European Working Time Directive, with a maximum of 48 clinical hours per week. The position offers a rich learning environment, with opportunities to develop hands-on ultrasound expertise.
