The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 7 Nurse Practitioner to join their Intermediate Care Unit. This role focuses on supporting patients in avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions and aiding their rehabilitation to achieve independence post-hospitalization. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists and occupational therapists, to provide high-quality care and comprehensive assessments for patients, typically during a stay of around six weeks.

Key responsibilities include making autonomous clinical decisions, conducting physical examinations, formulating care plans, and managing a caseload. Candidates should possess or be willing to obtain non-medical prescribing qualifications (v300). Strong leadership, advanced communication skills, and a keen interest in rehabilitation are essential. The position requires flexibility to work various shifts across seven days a week.

Applicants should have a solid clinical background, exemplary managerial skills, and familiarity with electronic patient records.
