The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant / Healthcare Science Assistant to join the Derbyshire Pathology team in Microbiology at Queen's Hospital, Burton. The role involves supporting Biomedical Scientists by performing various tasks related to the processing of patient samples, including sorting, preparation, and handling of blood, urine, tissue, and bodily fluids. Key responsibilities also include data entry into the laboratory computer system, maintaining equipment, and managing clinical waste, necessitating strong multitasking and flexibility skills.

Candidates will be required to follow Trust policies and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while efficiently preparing and processing specimens, including those for microscopy and culture media. The position offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to essential healthcare services in a dynamic laboratory environment.
