We are seeking a dedicated and organised Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice, contributing to a positive patient experience.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, including booking, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments as necessary.
  • Maintain patient records accurately, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing calls to appropriate staff members.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient needs and care.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organised reception area.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned to support the overall efficiency of the practice.

Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone

Job Responsibilities:

Navigate patients to the correct person who can help with their query in the most timely way.

Ensure an effective, efficient, polite and courteous reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the Practice

Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments or phone calls.

Using your own judgment and communication skills ensure that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.

Explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.

Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
