Job description
The role will be based at our newly built, bespoke offices in central Gloucester, with frequent travel to other sites in Gloucestershire, and occasional travel elsewhere in the UK. You must be able to travel independently.
We offer considerable flexibility about hours, with a minimum of 20 per week (to be worked over at least 4 days), up to whole-time equivalent (37.5h). We welcome applicants wishing to job-share.
Salary will be in a range equivalent to NHS Band 8, the exact salary will depend on experience.
The role is eligible for the NHS pension scheme, with an employer contribution of 20.6%
Paid annual leave of 25 days per annum plus 8 days of bank holidays (pro-rata if part-time). We can also offer additional unpaid annual leave, by agreement.

G DOC LTD is the GP provider organisation for Gloucestershire. We are a membership organisation: all GP practices in Gloucestershire are shareholders. Our mission is to strengthen general practice by delivering safe, high quality, and innovative primary care.
G DOC works with GPs across the county, to ensure general practice is sustainable and responsive to local needs.

To provide effective leadership to G DOCs non-clinical managers and operational teams, and to build our reputation as an excellent employer.

About us
Main duties of the role
Lead the design, development, and delivery of an infrastructure that supports our current services and realises our future ambitions.
Shape to the development of G DOCs strategic vision, in conjunction with the Management Board.
Working with the Finance Team, set and review annual budgets, future capital expenditure budgets/proposals and ensure compliance with the organisations financial regulations.
Oversee corporate compliance.
Ensure effective governance and oversight of our service delivery
Develop, manage, and influence long-term relationships with our own teams, shareholders, commissioners and other stakeholders.
Oversee development of a communication and engagement strategy

The role is based within our practices. In-person leadership is critical, so the role is not suitable for working from home.
Reports to: Chief Executive
Duties specific to role
Leadership and team management
Support and develop leaders within the organisation.
Ensure robust practice management arrangements are in place.
Ensure safe staffing arrangements are in place.
Develop and oversee organisation-wide reporting processes.
Oversee compliance with employment law. CQC requirements and NHS recommendations
Promote good staff relationships and motivation
Strategic Overview
Review and update business plan
Identify sources of income and new contract opportunities.
Act as point of contact for commissioners.
Oversee forward planning, including staff development
Information Management and Technology
Develop and oversee the implementation of a cyber strategy for G DOC.
Ensure robust data management systems are in place.
Ensure compliance with Data Security & Protection Toolkit requirements.
Governance
In conjunction with lead clinicians, ensure compliance with Clinical Governance and Safeguarding policies and procedures
Oversee Care Quality Commission compliance
Non-Clinical Patient Welfare
As part of the leadership team, develop and implement systems and procedures to ensure safe and responsive provision of services to patients
Encourage patient participation and engagement
Develop an organisation-wide patient engagement strategy.
Contractual/KPIs
Monitor compliance with the Contractor framework
Work with commissioners to manage contracts
Other
Attend internal and external meetings as required
Oversee communications - distributing information appropriately
