We currently have a vacancy for a Team Manager in our Occupational Therapy Team. Are you a positive person who can provide leadership for our occupational therapy team? Do you have strong legal literacy to support your clinical decision-making? Can you inspire the workforce by highlighting opportunities and fostering teamwork to find innovative solutions?

You will need to be an experienced HCPC registered Occupational Therapist ideally with knowledge of health and social care occupational therapy services and leadership. You must be passionate about raising the profile of Occupational Therapy within social care and committed to partnership working within Adult Social Care to ensure we deliver the best outcomes for York citizens.

Our current staff team are skilled, committed, friendly and supportive.To support them to undertake their role we are seeking a dynamic Team Manager to continue this development.

We are committed to personalised, strength-based approaches and keen to support York citizens to remain active, independent and at home.

The team undertake functional assessments of varying complexity within the home environment. The team considers either providing equipment, minor, or more complex major adaptations to meet the persons assessed needs. Occupational Therapy team staff members also sign post people to other services and support their application for a Disabled Facilities Grant, based on their assessed needs and through occupational therapy recommendations.

The successful candidate will:

Have a professional qualification in Occupational Therapy, be a Senior Occupational Therapist and be HCPC registered.

Have significant experience in one or more of the areas we work in.

Have excellent people skills with a coaching approach to management.

Have a knowledge and practical understanding of relevant legislation including, but not exclusive to, the Care Act and Housing legislation, including the Disabled Facilities Grant.

Be open to new ideas and be able to encourage others to adapt and embrace change.

The main responsibilities of this role:

To Manage a team which includes professionally qualified Occupational Therapy staff and Occupational Therapy Assistants

Providing management to staff who are accountable for assessment, care and support planning, intervention, monitoring, and reviewing, to meet needs.

Ensuring that the standards of the Health Care Professions Council and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, are complied with and performance targets are monitored and delivered.

To be responsible for service improvement, and accountable for expenditure against allocated budget.
