The West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a qualified Band 5 Electrical Technician to join their estates maintenance team at St Albans City Hospital, with occasional duties at Hemel Hempstead Hospital. Ideal candidates should be able to work independently, having completed an electrical apprenticeship and be trained to City and Guilds standards; an 18th edition regulations qualification is preferred. Responsibilities include performing planned maintenance, fault-finding electrical circuits, working on small power and lighting systems, and participating in an on-call emergency cover rota. The role also involves understanding fire alarm systems, nurse call systems, generators, LV panels, and boiler plants. Additionally, there are opportunities for staff development through training and apprenticeships, with earning potential exceeding £40,000 due to various benefits like overtime and on-call payments.

Prospective applicants should note that the Trust cannot offer a Certificate of Sponsorship for this position. As part of the estates department, the technician may also be required to cover supervisory duties and provide service across multiple sites.
