The Staff Nurse position at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust offers a full-time opportunity to work in both Ward 10 and the coronary care unit at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. This role involves providing exceptional care to patients with various heart conditions, including acute coronary syndrome and heart failure, while also managing critically unstable patients in the coronary care unit. Successful candidates will have the chance to rotate into the lab to gain skills in important procedures such as pacemaker insertions and diagnostic angiography. While prior experience is beneficial, training and support for skill development will be provided.

As part of the ward team, nurses will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while also assuming leadership responsibilities in the absence of senior staff. This band 5 position offers an exciting opportunity to work on Ward 10 and coronary care at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital.

We currently have a fulltime vacancy in adult nursing. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work between both clinical areas.

Ward 10 is a Cardiology unit which incorporates 6 Coronary Care beds. We manage a range of heart conditions which includes acute coronary syndrome and acute/chronic heart failure, as well as various tachy and brady arrhythmias some of which may require pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defibrillators . Whilst working in the coronary care unit you will have the opportunity to look after level 2 patients, this requires monitoring and treatment of clinically unstable patients.

This role also provides opportunity to rotate in to our lab to gain competencies in procedures such as elective and emergency pacemaker/implantable cardioverter defibrillator insertion and elective diagnostic angiography.

Ward 10 is an acute 30 bedded Cardiology admission ward incorporating 6 Coronary Care beds. We aim to provide excellent acute care to a wide range of patients. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic nurses to join our team.

Experience in this area would be beneficial, however support and training to develop knowledge and skills will be provided. Commitment to the development of your knowledge and skills to degree level and to the provision of high standards of personalised care is essential. Evidence of contemporary knowledge and recognised post registration continuous professional development qualifications would be an advantage.
