The role of a Catering Assistant at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in East Grinstead involves working collaboratively within the Catering Department to support the preparation and service of food to patients, staff, and visitors while ensuring high cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained. Responsibilities include serving food, preparing snacks and salads, cleaning kitchen and dining areas, replenishing stock, and following stringent food hygiene protocols. The position requires flexibility, as tasks may vary between the central kitchen, stores, or the restaurant.

Additionally, the Catering Assistant must monitor the temperature of food storage units, attend training sessions, maintain necessary records, and adhere to the Trust’s policies and procedures.
