We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP Thorn Cross, a Category D adult male prison, located in Appleton Thorn, south of Warrington. HMP Thorn Cross has operational capacity of 430.
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care.
Hours:
This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, and you will work on rotational shifts
Salary:
This position is full time , youll receive an annual salary of £24,669 - £28,690 per annum - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times
- Work across all areas of care, including inpatients, clinics, primary care, health promotion, bloods etc
- Respond to emergency situations as needed
- Work holistically with your patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates, pharmacy etc
- Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
- Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics
