University Hospitals of Derby & Burton NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a Locum Consultant Clinical Oncologist to join a team of 17 Consultants, providing essential oncology services to Southern Derbyshire and East Staffordshire for a period of 6 to 12 months, with the possibility of extension. The position will be based at the Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton, focusing on tumor sites such as colorectal, gynecological, lung, skin, and hepatopancreaticobiliary cancers. Flexibility in job plans is available, accommodating part-time hours and various tumor site responsibilities.

The successful candidate will oversee new patient and follow-up clinics, provide emergency cover, supervise junior doctors, and ensure the smooth operation of the department. Additionally, the role includes teaching responsibilities, participation in clinical audits, and involvement in clinical governance and continuing medical education initiatives. The trust emphasises high-quality patient care within a supportive and adaptable work environment.
