The British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) is seeking a Registered Nurse or Midwife to join their team as an Aftercare Teleconsultation Nurse or Midwife. This is a part-time, permanent position requiring 30 hours of work per week from home, with a shift schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and overnight hours across a 24/7 service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide telephone-based post-abortion, vasectomy, and sexual health advice.
- Conduct assessments and offer medical advice to a diverse client group based on their individual needs.
- Handle clinical triage, including booking follow-up appointments and referring clients for additional support services when necessary.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure communication with GPs and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
- Current registration as an Adult Nurse Level 1 or Midwife, with experience in primary, surgical, or urgent care settings.
- Previous clinical triage experience and a solid understanding of healthcare guidelines.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft software.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of remote working.
Location & Hours:
- Primarily home-based, with potential travel for training at BPAS locations and occasional meetings at the Leamington Spa head office. Shifts are scheduled in advance.
Salary:
- Competitive salary ranging from £36,938 to £44,625 per annum, pro-rata for part-time hours, based on experience.

At BPAS, we're looking for an Aftercare Teleconsultation Nurse or Midwife on a permanent basis working from home, part-time for 30 hours per week.
You will be required to work shifts across a service that runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This will include some evening, weekend and overnight shifts.
As an Aftercare Nurse or Midwife you'll provide post abortion, vasectomy and sexual health information over the phone.
Every client is different, and you will need to adapt your style to meet their requirements. You'll assess and provide medical advice to a varied client group with a wide range of conditions and concerns after treatment over the phone.
About you
You'll be a Registered Adult Nurse Level 1 or Midwife (practising) with experience in primary, surgical, or urgent care. A self-starter, you will be adaptable and self-motivated to provide an excellent telephone consultation service to BPAS clients. You will also have a broad clinical knowledge with previous experience of clinical and nurse triage, and working to guidelines, policies and procedures.
We are also looking for:
- Good IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft Packages
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and listening skills which can be used via the telephone
- Self-motivated to be able to work from home in a clinical telephone based role
- Provide clinically safe triage care for clients with a broad range of questions and concerns.
- Booking post-operative checks for clients who need to be seen in clinic after their treatment.
- Referring clients to our counselling service and safeguarding team when needed.
- Being able to communicate with GPs and other health care professional outside of BPAS as and when needed.
- Update clients notes with factual advice and informing the clinic if the client needs a follow up.

Some travel to BPAS hub & unit locations around the UK will be required for the successful candidate in the first few months of employment for training and induction purposes. Visits to head office in Leamington Spa will be required occasionally during employment for meetings & training.
