The role of Locum Consultant Nephrologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London involves a 10 PA maternity locum position for six months, primarily providing specialist renal care between Hammersmith Hospital and Ealing Hospital. The consultant will be part of a collaborative team delivering comprehensive nephrology, dialysis, and transplant services to patients in North West London and beyond. Responsibilities include managing outpatient and inpatient care, conducting nephrology and advanced kidney care clinics, and participating in the on-call rota. The postholder will be expected to take the lead in renal service delivery at Hillingdon Hospital while also engaging in procedures and transplant activities at Hammersmith Hospital.

Key duties entail conducting daily ward rounds, reviewing emergency presentations, and collaborating with the transplant surgical team for organ offers during on-call duties. The position supports a significant renal service, including an extensive inpatient facility, outpatient clinics, and an active transplant program that averages 160 kidney transplants annually. The consultant will split their time between the two hospitals, ensuring a seamless delivery of care across the region.
