The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join the Infectious Diseases Unit (Ward 28) at Heartlands Hospital. This full-time, permanent role involves managing daily ward operations, ensuring optimal staff allocation and patient flow while also supporting a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate should have at least two years of Band 5 experience, along with a genuine passion for caring for patients with complex infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV, and tropical infections.

Key responsibilities include promoting a culture of person-centered care, ensuring compliance with clinical governance and safety standards, coordinating patient journeys, and leading a team in a busy and dynamic environment. The role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to advocate for patients while supporting the ongoing development of staff.
