Job description
We are looking for a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our team.
We consider a30 hour contract (4 days a week) or 36 hours as a term-time-only contract.Salary shown is full time equivalent and will be pro-rated accordingly. Please note this role will attract a health market supplement in addition to the existing salary.
The Paediatric Physiotherapy service is based at The Moor Lane Centre in Chessington as well asspecial schools within the borough of Kingston and is funded by the NHS. The Kingston ClinicalCommissioning Group commissions the Local Authority to provide a co-ordinated Physiotherapyservice for children and young people with significant disability and complex health needs aged 0 to18 years. The team provides a service to Early Years children, mainstream schools and special schoolsto support children and young people who have significant functional difficulties in relation to theirgross motor abilities. This is done through the use of assessment tools and equipment aimed atimproving mobility and providing 24 hour postural management, due to a complex, severe or enduringphysical and or developmental conditions which significantly affect ability to achieve potential.

As a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist for Achieving for Children youwillwork in a range of settings as anautonomous practitioner, providing high quality paediatric physiotherapy support to children andyoung people with disabilities to achieve their potential. You will have the opportunity to workcollaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support children and young peoples gross motorneeds and provide specialist advice to other disciplines. You will carry a specialist caseload of childrenand young people with a variety of complex physical, learning and social needs and be responsible forwriting reports for EHCP and MDT assessments/reviews. As part of the role you will contribute to thesupervision of students on clinical placement and therapy assistants and support workers in schoolswho are working with children and young people on your caseload.
The purpose of this role is to:
- Provide a neurodevelopmental paediatric physiotherapy service to children aged 0 to 18 years (and up to 19 years in special schools) who have a range of developmental disorders and neurological disabilities,these children may have complex and/or long term disabilities and additional needs
- Carry outPhysiotherapy assessments and be experienced in the use of relevant standardised assessments and outcome measures
- Liaise with the multidisciplinary team, families, carers and other professionals to maintain a holistic view of the child or young person. You will work with other relevant professionals to provide the best advice and support
- Encourage functional independence in relation to gross motor activities through the assessment and prescription equipment and aids as required
