The North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT) is seeking a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager for the 19-bed female acute inpatient unit, Kahlo Ward, in Goodmayes. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and compassionate mental health nurse, potentially with experience in learning disabilities or physical care, who is prepared to take on a leadership role. Responsibilities include providing clinical and managerial leadership, coordinating shifts, and guiding the nursing team in delivering high-quality mental health care while ensuring compliance with care planning and risk assessment protocols. The role requires effective communication with service users, families, and multidisciplinary teams, as well as participation in personal and team development.

The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in mental health legislation, care standards, and will be expected to actively contribute to service improvement initiatives.
