We have an exciting opportunity for a
Maternal Medicine Lead Midwife
to join our dynamic and friendly team here at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust.

The primary responsibility of the Maternal Medicine Lead Midwife is to work as part of the specialist team, offering expert advice and high-quality care to women with existing, complex medical conditions and/or comorbidities. This includes undertaking a holistic assessment of each woman's individual's needs in partnership with the woman and planning a programme of care to meet these safely and effectively.

You will lead on the development, implementation and evaluation of relative care pathways and ensure they are consistently and sustainably meeting the needs of women and families and are achieving high quality safe care provision in accordance with both local and National recommendations.

Lead the maternal medicine service in collaboration with relevant members of the wider MDT

Contribute to the prenatal counselling clinics as required in collaboration with medical and obstetric colleagues.

To take the lead in collaborative efforts for the maternal medicine service at ENHT and offer support while delivering clinical excellence to ensure the efficient management of service users with complex needs.

Undertake the full role of the midwife including advanced decision-making, using evidence-based practice.

Work collaboratively within the MDT to provide high-level, holistic midwifery care that impacts positively upon the woman's maternity journey.

Support both women and staff throughout the maternity journey to ensure that the mother and baby receive high quality safe care relevant to their individual needs and that any birth/postnatal plans are followed up, including contraception provision.

Ensure that personalised care plans are instigated in partnership with the woman, evaluated, and amended appropriately throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods.
