The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a passionate and motivated Deputy Ward Leader for the East Midlands Planned Care Centre (EMPCC), specifically within the Medical Day Ward at Leicester General site. The successful candidate will be an experienced nurse, preferably with a background in Gastroenterology, who can support patient care through a nurse-led facility. Key responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, providing clinical leadership to the ward team, mentoring and supporting staff and students, and contributing to high standards of nursing care.

The role also involves managing ward operations in the absence of the Ward Manager, enhancing team communication, participating in staff recruitment, and promoting the development of new services within the ward. The Deputy Ward Leader will utilize their clinical expertise to improve staff competence and patient safety while maintaining effective communication with the multidisciplinary team.
