The role of Senior Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a) within the Stroke Services at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust involves providing specialized psychological support to individuals impacted by physical health problems, particularly those recovering from strokes. The post-holder will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, delivering comprehensive psychological assessments, risk management, and tailored therapeutic interventions. This position emphasises the importance of psychological care in stroke recovery and aims to enhance clients' mental health and coping strategies.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to inclusivity, meeting the complex needs of clients with mental health conditions or learning disabilities, and will be responsible for supervising other therapists. Additional responsibilities include contributing to service development, evaluation, and research, while ensuring that psychological insights inform all aspects of service redesign. The role is based at West Park Hospital in Wolverhampton and requires a compassionate approach to care that promotes a positive image of those with mental health challenges.
