The Band 5 Prison Nurse position with Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS FT offers an exciting opportunity for healthcare professionals to work within HMP Birmingham, a key facility in one of the largest community healthcare trusts in the UK. The role involves delivering 24-hour patient care, collaborating with an integrated team under the guidance of a specialist practitioner, and rotating onto the inpatient wing. The nurse will be responsible for maintaining evidence-based practice, providing support and advice to patients, and promoting healthy living while focusing on prevention and self-management of health issues.

Additionally, the Trust supports its staff by covering the NMC professional registration fee, DBS costs, and offering financial allowances for environmental factors associated with working in a prison setting. Newer nurses may start as Band 4 Transition Practitioners until they receive their professional registration. The position includes various benefits such as free onsite parking and an emphasis on fostering a friendly and dynamic work environment. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply promptly, as applications will close once sufficient responses have been received.

More about the NHS
The National Health Service (NHS) is a cornerstone of healthcare in the United Kingdom, established in 1948 with the simple yet profound principle of providing healthcare to all citizens, free at the point of use. This revolutionary system aimed to ensure that access to medical services would not depend on an individual’s financial situation, a concept that has since become fundamental to British societal values.Learn more...
