The Band 5 Prison Nurse position with Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS FT offers an exciting opportunity for healthcare professionals to work within HMP Birmingham, a key facility in one of the largest community healthcare trusts in the UK. The role involves delivering 24-hour patient care, collaborating with an integrated team under the guidance of a specialist practitioner, and rotating onto the inpatient wing. The nurse will be responsible for maintaining evidence-based practice, providing support and advice to patients, and promoting healthy living while focusing on prevention and self-management of health issues.

Additionally, the Trust supports its staff by covering the NMC professional registration fee, DBS costs, and offering financial allowances for environmental factors associated with working in a prison setting. Newer nurses may start as Band 4 Transition Practitioners until they receive their professional registration.
