Job Summary: Staff Nurse (Band 5) at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
Location: Cramlington (Ward 12, Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital)
The role involves working as a Staff Nurse in a 30-bedded acute respiratory ward that also includes a dedicated respiratory support unit for clinical level 2 patients requiring non-invasive ventilation. The position is full-time with a rotational schedule covering day shifts, night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays, although part-time options are welcome.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Organize and coordinate nursing services in the absence of senior staff.
- Maintain high nursing care standards and clinical accountability as per the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Exhibit compassionate leadership to foster a collaborative work environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Motivated and enthusiastic with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to undertake specialized respiratory training, leading to enhanced career progression into specialist roles.

We are looking to recruit a Band 5 staff nurse to work within Respiratory on Ward 12 at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital.

We meet the needs of adult patients requiring in hospital treatment for a range of respiratory conditions such as COPD, asthma ,bronchiectasis , pleural effusions or respiratory failure.
We work as part of an MDT which includes our Respiratory Specialist Nurses and Respiratory Physiotherapists.
We offer successful candidates:
Specialised respiratory training including training in enhanced level 2 care.Friendly and supportive workplaceExtensive and varied clinical experience and continued professional development
Gaining experience within the respiratory team could enhance progression within the service into leadership roles or a route to other specialist roles, such as respiratory specialist nursing.
You should have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and be able to work effectively as a member of a MDT.

- (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
