The Care Group Medical Director for Primary Care & Community at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is a clinical leader who remains active in their medical practice, ideally a Medical Consultant or GP. This role involves close collaboration with Operational and Nursing leads to oversee the medical activities within the Care Group, jointly managing governance and patient safety initiatives. The post holder will work as part of the leadership team alongside the Service Director and Nursing Director to enhance and modernize Primary Care and Community services, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient patient care across the Cwm Taf Morgannwg area.

In addition to providing strategic leadership, the Care Group Medical Director will promote collaboration between specialties and ensure equitable access to resources and conditions across the Health Board. They will be a vital member of the Medical Director team, supporting and developing relationships with Deputy and Assistant Medical Directors, while being professionally accountable to the Deputy Medical Director and operationally accountable to the Care Group Service Director. The role emphasises the importance of delivering high-quality wellbeing and care services that meet the needs of the entire Cwm Taf Morgannwg population.
