The Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and proactive Highly Specialist Pharmacist to enhance their peri-operative and surgical pharmacy team in Upton. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals in various surgical specialties, including urology, colorectal, trauma and orthopaedics, and upper GI. Responsibilities include managing perioperative care for elective and emergency surgical patients, optimizing medication use, reviewing patients with acute and complex needs during multidisciplinary ward rounds, and developing prescribing guidelines.

The successful candidate will also play a key role in financial monitoring of drug expenditure, training healthcare staff, promoting medicines safety, and engaging in clinical audit and research activities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure, are essential. The position emphasises collaboration with various organisations within the healthcare system, making it integral to the continuous improvement of patient care and medication optimisation.
