The Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor for its Later Life inpatient wards, Cove (10 beds) and Dune (14 beds), located at the Long Fox Unit in Weston-super-Mare. In this role, the doctor will work within a multi-disciplinary team, providing assessment and treatment for older adults while focusing on enhancing patients' strengths, independence, and overall well-being. The position offers opportunities for professional development in old age psychiatry, including direct involvement in ward rounds, Mental Health Act work, and Care Programme Approach meetings, with dedicated supervision from a Consultant each week.

The Specialty Doctor will be responsible for providing psychiatric and medical expertise, collaborating with various healthcare professionals, and managing new admissions. Additionally, there is flexibility to pursue special interests in Later Life Psychiatry, making this a well-supported and enriching opportunity for professional growth.
