The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Therapy Support Worker to join their Medicine Therapy service at the Ashton (UAA) facility in Hinckley. This role involves working alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in a Reablement/Discharge to Assess Unit, focusing on providing therapy interventions that support patient discharge and mitigate deconditioning. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, an understanding of therapy roles, and the ability to perform personal care tasks. They will be required to participate in local training to develop necessary competencies and will work primarily Monday to Friday, with some weekend and Bank Holiday responsibilities.

In this position, the Therapy Support Worker will foster positive relationships with patients and their families, understand health influences, and participate in health promotion efforts. They will need to recognize and escalate any concerns regarding patient deterioration and provide feedback on care plans based on measurable outcomes. Successful applicants will demonstrate effective teamwork, defined roles, and an understanding of both service user health and the importance of supervision in their duties.
