As a Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator at Avery Healthcare, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents. With your compassion, dedication, and strong communication skills, you will work closely with residents, their families, and the care team to create a nurturing and fulfilling environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying residents' individual needs and preferences, planning and implementing a diverse activity program, and fostering an inclusive and stimulating community. You will arrange events, outings, and social gatherings, encouraging the involvement of staff, relatives, and visitors. Maintaining a safe and positive environment, you will contribute to the professional image of the home and ensure that the principles of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights, and fulfillment are upheld for all residents.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus asWellbeing andActivitiesCoordinatorwill be toprovidea wide range of activities to engage and stimulate theresidents' physical, psychological, and social well-being and tounderstandthe needto promotethe philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice,rights,and fulfilment for all residents.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Identifying the life history, needs, and preferences of residents by listening to them and their families to support the development of a detailed life story.
  • Planning and submitting to the Home Manager- a monthly activity and wellbeing plan and a weekly overview.
  • Arranging activities, events, and outings, encouraging the involvement of staff, relatives, and visitors.
  • Maintaining a safe living and working environment, contributing to the positive and professional image of the home.

Our ideal candidatemusthave:

  • Previously worked with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting
  • Experience organising activities and events.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
  • A positive attitude toward older people and a commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
