The South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Clinical Coder to join their team in Sunderland. Candidates should have strong communication and organisational skills, and a willingness to learn. The role involves accurately and timely coding of diagnostic and procedural classifications from patient records, using ICD-10 and OPCS4 guidelines.

Key responsibilities include analyzing patient records, coding episodes, ensuring all data is valid, following up on uncoded episodes, and participating in quality assessments of medical records. Although experience in a Clinical Coding department is preferred, relevant experience in other healthcare settings will also be considered. Training and support will be provided, with the expectation that the successful candidate will work toward a National Coding Qualification.

The position does not offer Skilled Worker Sponsorship, so applicants must be aware of this requirement.
