Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HCA to join our highly committed team. The candidate needs to have the ability to work independently as well as being a good team player. We are an innovative and forward-thinking practice, and this role would allow you to be part of a large and diverse team with any training and development needs being fully supported. The candidate will need good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.

NHS Health Checks & new patient health checks
ECG recording
Phlebotomy
Urinalysis and specimen processing
Chaperoning duties
Blood pressure recording
B12, Flu, Pneumococcal, Shingles & COVID vaccinations
Diabetes checks including foot checks
Pre-diabetes and diet/lifestyle advice
Hypertension reviews
Fridge checks
Defib and emergency equipment checks
QOF work
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording.
Re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor surgery

About us
To assist the clinical team in the service and delivery of care to the practice population. The post holder will work under the supervision of our Matron, undertaking tasks and duties delegated by the clinical team.
They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of the patients, ensuring that practice policies and procedures are followed.

They will also assist management with duties related to CQC and QOF outcomes, ensuring that compliance is maintained in areas such as cold chain and infection control.
