DEMENTIA MENTAL HEALTH
The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking a Highly Specialist Practitioner Psychologist for a band 8b role within the Liaison Psychiatry for Older People (LPOP) service at University Hospital Llandough. This role involves providing psychological and cognitive assessments and interventions to patients coping with mental health issues in medical wards. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including medical and nursing staff, and actively participate in complex case discussions, team formulations, and training initiatives, while also supervising an Assistant Psychologist.

This position requires a psychologist with a keen interest in clinical health psychology, particularly concerning older adults who face complex mental and physical health challenges. The role not only involves direct clinical work but also supports service development, teaching, and consultation. The successful candidate will join a supportive psychology directorate that prioritizes professional development and training opportunities, while the ability to speak Welsh is considered desirable.
