In this role, the technician will perform various ocular assessments including Ocular Coherence Tomography imaging, visual fields testing, fundus photography, and general clinical photography, among other responsibilities. The post-holder should have relevant experience and an understanding of a range of ophthalmic conditions to effectively aid in patient assessment for both new and existing eye diseases.
We are looking for an ophthalmic imaging technician to assist with covering weekend shifts and holiday cover. Additional shifts will also be possible depending on clinic requirements.
This is a great opportunity for student optometrists to gain experience of working in a hospital eye service, and solidify your knowledge of ocular pathology.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
The post-holder will be an Ophthalmic Imaging Technician with relevant experience. The post-holder will have knowledge of a range of ophthalmic conditions and will facilitate the assessment of patients.
The role involves performing vision assessments, visual fields, disc and macula OCT, and fundus photography on patients referred to the eye unit for new eye pathologies and monitoring existing eye disease.
