Key responsibilities include maintaining high-quality, patient-centered care, co-managing daily service operations, engaging in strategic planning, and participating in teaching and training within a multidisciplinary team. The consultant will also take part in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to clinical governance activities and continuing medical education within the department. It is expected that the applicant will complement an existing department offering a full gastroenterology service, please see job plan. Across the trust the care of gastroenterologyinpatients is centralised at the Lister site with consultants currently involved in a 1 in 12 GI bleeding rota which incorporates a 24/7 bleed service and some routine endoscopy at weekends whilst on-call. The post does not include a regular commitment to the general medical on-call rota but please note the pandemic has meantsome involvement in general medical care of patients.
