The position is part of the Older People's Mental Health Services (OPMHS), which has expanded its offerings to include support for older individuals with severe and enduring mental health issues. We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapists, interested to join a team of enthusiastic and committed professionals in delivering the Prime Minister's Challenge on Dementia (2and the NHS Long Term Plan for Older Adults Mental Health services (2in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.
West London NHS Trust, Cognitive Impairment and Dementia services deliver specialist care to patients in the locality who are experiencing cognitive problems & dementia that impacts upon their abilities to carry out activities of daily living.
This is a temporary post to cover the maternity leave of current Specialist Occupational therapist in Ealing CIDS team. This position is available for 12 months
This is a B7 post is based in the vibrant London Borough of H&F
The post holder will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and the wider occupational therapy team within the older people's mental health service line. Patients who are referred to this service are those with cognitive impairment who are requiring for dementia screening and potential diagnosis.
Occupational Therapy service also provide post-diagnostic supports including cognitive rehabilitation, advise on dementia design, equipment provision and advise to carers/family. They will also work alongside activity co-ordinators and psychology colleagues in facilitating group and individual therapeutic activities either in the clinic or through electronic platforms.
The older people's mental health service (OPMHS) was previously known as cognitive impairment and dementia services (CIDS). We still offer the same services with the addition of provision for older people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties.
OPMHS OT team is a large and diverse team, which includes team members who have trained overseas. We have a robust induction and training programme to integrate new team members in the Trust and the service line. We are passionate about our team members' health & well-being and career progression.
