The Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is looking to hire a qualified Sonographer for a permanent role as a Trainee Consultant Radiographer specializing in Breast Imaging at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. This position is designed for motivated individuals who aim to progress to an independent Consultant Breast Radiographer within the Breast Services Team. The role involves producing high-quality ultrasound images, performing independent reporting, and undergoing training to develop skills essential for autonomous practice, including breast imaging and interventions such as biopsies and localisations.

Candidates should possess a UK-recognized Pg Certificate in Medical Ultrasound and have at least two years of NHS experience. The successful applicant will be part of a supportive team that emphasises continuous professional development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives, while also contributing to multidisciplinary breast care. Flexibility is required to meet service demands across various sites, and the role includes mentoring and supervision of other practitioners post-training completion.
