The Senior Medicines Effectiveness and Homecare Technician role at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust involves joining the newly established Best Value Medicines and Biologics Group, aimed at maximizing cost-saving opportunities in biologic medicines while maintaining high standards of patient care. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including prescribers, pharmacists, and procurement teams, to identify and implement strategies for efficient use of biologics and biosimilars.

Key responsibilities include supporting the Pharmacy Homecare Service Manager in the cost-effective procurement and delivery of homecare medicines, coordinating with clinical pharmacists and homecare providers for cost-saving initiatives, and maintaining resources to facilitate transitions to more economical medication options. The role emphasises the importance of promoting the economic use of medicines while ensuring quality pharmaceutical care for patients.
