As a Steward / Grounds and Handy Person at Compton, you'll be working as part of our friendly estates team providing a stewarding and maintenance service to the organisation across all sites.

You will be take part in the completion of a general maintenance program at all Compton sites and including grounds work. This will include, actioning and completing minor repairs and other maintenance PPM work as necessary. You will participate in and comply with all current Health and Safety legislation including managing flushing/testing/inspections/audits. You will also support with all grounds maintenance including garden maintenance.

Using a company vehicle, you will make deliveries to all sites in the group as requested. You will be responsible for the receipt and movement of all mail and equipment including sundry items for distribution as requested. In addition, as a key holder you will control opening and lockdown of the site as appropriate to the shift you are working. This will include being actively involved in all fire coordination requirements.

You may also be required to participate in on-call duties for out of hours cover on a rota basis from time to time in the absence on the night shift. This may include out of hours site visits to deal with plant failure and issues that need immediate attention.

  • To provide a stewarding service to the organisation across all sites including key support to clinical services and all other disciplines.
  • To be responsible in the completion of a general maintenance program at all Compton sites and grounds, which will include, actioning and completing minor repairs and other maintenance PPM work as necessary as part of routine maintenance programs managed through the IT maintenance system.
  • To manage the regular auditing program in line with maintenance compliance.
  • To support with the maintenance of the gardens.
  • To carry out driving duties to all sites using the company vehicles, for the use of transporting furniture, equipment, patients and to travel to the local NHS Trust with bloods and other medical supplies.
  • To participate in and comply with all current Health and Safety legislation including managing flushing/testing/inspections/audits.
  • Ensuring the security of all buildings across multiple sites are safe and secure. This will include being actively involved in all fire coordination requirements.
  • If required, participate in the on-call duties that may include out of hours site visits to deal with plant failure and issues that need immediate attention and escalate to senior estates management team members where required.
