The Whittington Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an Emergency Department Receptionist for a one-year fixed-term contract to cover long-term leave. This role, classified as Band 3, involves flexible 37.5-hour shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, to ensure the emergency department's continuous operation. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, the receptionist must display professionalism, care, and respect while managing various responsibilities, such as booking patients, answering calls, and performing essential administrative tasks to support the department's efficiency.

In this busy environment, the receptionist will work in both the Main Reception and Majors areas, assisting clinical staff and ensuring accurate patient registration and data entry using the Medway EPR system. Additional duties include handling patient transport bookings, maintaining a tidy workstation, and collaboratively engaging with team members to enhance service delivery. Candidates should expect to participate in relevant training and be available for shifts that include bank holidays and potential major incidents.
