This is a full time post offering the flexibility of working across caseloads in an acute setting. Flexible working patterns will be considered.
Although the majority of the timetable will be on the acute stroke or acute medical and surgical wards, there will be the opportunity, if desired to develop skills in head and neck cancer and critical care. Furthermore, there will be opportunities to develop specialist skills in videofluoroscopy and FEES with full support from experienced clinicians.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist who is passionate about delivering high quality evidence- based care.
Assessing and diagnosing patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
Treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
Working as a core member of the stroke multidisciplinary team.

To work at Musgrove Park Hospital delivering patient centred and evidence based care for patients with a wide range of acquired clinical disorders in an acute hospital setting.
Follow-up telephone reviews, and at times face to face assessments, for patients leaving the acute setting who are transferred to a community hospital.
To assess, diagnose and treat patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
Regular triage and prioritization of caseloads.
To work as part of multi professional team in the management of acutely unwell patients on the medical and surgical wards and the acute stroke unit.
To actively contribute to service developments and incorporate these into core services, in areas of communication and swallowing.
To work towards competence in videofluoroscopy, FEES and tracheostomy.
To be included in the SLT Bank Holiday working rota.
