The Head of Ionising Radiation Physics at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board will lead clinical, scientific, and advisory services related to ionising radiation across the Cardiff and South-East Wales region. This position, which can be categorized as either Principal or Consultant Clinical Scientist, involves engaging with multidisciplinary teams to provide expert advice, particularly in Oncology and Nuclear Medicine applications. The role includes participating in clinical services and trials, initiating research and development for new imaging and therapeutic techniques, and contributing to the education and training of staff and students.

Additionally, the post-holder will work closely with the Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering section, collaborating with radiology services and institutions like Cardiff University and Velindre University NHS Trust. The position requires the use of complex imaging equipment, compliance with legislation, and effective risk management regarding radiation and biological samples. Proficiency in Welsh is desirable, but applications from both Welsh and English speakers are welcome.
