Here at Walsall Health Care Trust, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cardiac Physiologist, to work with an experienced well established team.
The post holder should be able to perform a full range of cardiac physiology duties within a district general hospital, with an emphasis on patient-centred care. You will be involved in the wide range of cardiac investigations carried out by the department including ECGs, ambulatory monitoring and analysis, cardiac catheterisation, exercise tests, device implants and follow-ups (inc. complex devices) and Echocardiography. The post holder will also assist with the training of students and junior members of the department.
The post holder will be expected to be working towards accreditation in either Echocardiography or in Cardiac Rhythm Management to gain BSE or BHRS
The successful candidate must be able to work independently and unsupervised in all aspects of non-invasive cardiology, including ECG, Ambulatory monitoring , ETT, cath lab, support echo or pacing service. After appropriate training and internal accreditation where required, the post holder will take technical responsibility for their workload and ensure that a high level of patient care is maintained at all times, in accordance with local and national standards.
Candidates will be responsible for assisting in the day to day running of the echocardiography and CRM service, as required and for ensuring the infrastructure and equipment of the services are maintained in good working order and is adequate for purpose, including assisting with stock control of consumables.
