The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologist for the Adult Learning Disability Clinical Psychology Department in Colwyn Bay, with options for either a Band 8a position or a Band 7 development post. The role is set within the Conwy Community Learning Disability Team, which fosters a supportive environment that values the contributions of Clinical Psychology. The selected candidate will be expected to provide direct and indirect psychological services to clients, consult and support team members, and deliver high-quality input to individuals with complex difficulties. The importance of forming effective therapeutic relationships and supporting the team’s overall well-being is emphasized.

Candidates should possess the ability to adapt their services to the unique needs of clients with learning disabilities, engaging in various activities such as specialized assessments, risk assessment, and providing insight-based formulation. Additionally, the role involves mentoring Trainee Clinical Psychologists and may necessitate supervision of research projects. Applicants are encouraged to possess organisational skills, flexibility, and effective communication abilities, with Welsh language proficiency seen as desirable.
