Our services are offered across Essex from the Antenatal period up until a young person turns 19 or 25 for those with Special Educational Needs.

We are located within the community delivering outcome based support to families within their homes, schools or at one of our Family Hubs and Delivery Sites.

As a Family Wellbeing Nurse within the Essex Child & Family Wellbeing Service you will join a team who are focused on clinical excellence and who recently received a Good CQC rating.

  • As a Family Wellbeing Nurse, youll join a Healthy Family Team who are focused on clinical excellence. Your days will be rewarding and variedand include offering support to children and families and empowering them to reach their full potential.
  • There is a Healthy Family Team located within every District of Essex and is made up of a Multi-disciplinary team, including Health Visitors, School Nurses, Family Wellbeing Nurses and additional colleagues who work together to provide family support.
  • As a Family Wellbeing Nurse, you will work alongside the Health Visitors and be responsible for the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, including assessment of health needs, development, implementation, and evaluation of packages of care.
  • You will provide leadership and act as positive role model by supporting colleagues and demonstrating excellent standards of care.
  • You will undertake mentorship responsibilities for pre-registration students whilst on placement within the service and provide preceptorship to support new staff members. You will be supported to do this by our Practice Education team.
  • Regular safeguarding supervision will be provided along with opportunities for continued professional development.
  • A comprehensive induction programme is provided by our dedicated Practice Education Team.

The Ideal Candidate
  • You will have a Nursing or Midwifery qualification, along with a passion and drive to help ensure that children have the best possible start in life.
  • Applications from newly qualified Nurses or Midwives looking to start their career in a community setting will be considered.
  • You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.

You will have a valid UK driving licence and have access to a car for work use.
