Working alongside the members of the team the post holder will participate in the assessment and management of patients referred into the service.
The consultant would be responsible for prescribing medications as required and also provide support to other members of the team for assessment of mental and physical health, medical diagnosis and medications for the patients on the teams caseload.
The post holder will participate in the clinical meetings including handover discussions within the team.
Attending handover team meetings, supervision of team members.
Management of complex cases.
Clinical leadership of team.
Role in assessment of referrals/admissions.
Care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.
Liaison and collaborative working with other services/agencies.
Mental Health Act implementation.
Multi-disciplinary, multi-agency and partnership working.

EPUT is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment team (East) based at Rochford Community Hospital, Rochford.
The team provides appropriate alternative to hospital admission for working age and older adults with severe mental illness (e.g. Schizophrenia, manic depressive disorders, severe depressive disorder) with an acute psychiatric crisis of such severity that, without the involvement of a crisis resolution home treatment team, hospitalisation would be necessary. The team operates 7 days a week service from 08.00 - 20.00 and provides on call service for all patients on the caseloads.
You must have full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register, with an appropriate CCT or equivalent or be within six months of obtaining your CCT on the date of the AAC.
Rochford is a 35 minute train ride from central London. The local grammar schools have consistently being in the top 10 secondary schools nationally in the Sunday Times "Good schools guide".
