The role

We are recruiting for a
HCA
, up to 25 hours per week on a permanent contract, working pattern negotiable. The role will be undertaking home visits for the PCN Enhanced Care Team, and to help the team with demand for phlebotomy & HCA services.

This role will require an
Enhanced DBS Clearance
. Should you have this certificate as part of the DBS subscription service, we would be happy to accept this providing the original is shown. Otherwise, you will be expected to complete a new application.

As the role involves patient home visits, you are required to own vehicle for work and have Business Car Insurance.


Hours:
up to 25 hours per week, part time. Working pattern negotiable.


Salary:
£11.45 per hour.


Main duties and responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive):

  • Working in the community with housebound patients under the direction of a qualified nurse.
  • To collect venous/capillary blood samples without harm to patient or self by following the phlebotomy standard operating procedures.
  • To obtain such blood samples to a standard fit for laboratory testing ensuring collection, maintaining appropriate files & records as required.
  • To ensure that all phlebotomy equipment and accommodation is properly maintained and suitable for use.
  • Undertake ECGs
  • Dopplers
  • Wheelchair assessments
  • Pain assessment forms
  • Basic observations
  • Measurement for stockings
  • Inhaler technique
  • Collection of prescriptions


Training will be provided in these areas, depending on experience. We are also able to support NVQ qualification.
