Diane Knight – Registered Manager Email: Role: Bank Family Support Worker and Full-Time/Part-Time Family Support Worker Starting Salary: £12.50 per hour. Available for both day and night shifts. Family Support Workers at Primrose Family Care will play a critical role in providing high-quality care, support, and assessment to families. This position involves working directly with parents to ensure the safety and well-being of children, supporting parents in developing essential parenting skills, and contributing to thorough and fair assessments. Main Responsibilities: • Act as the keyworker/assessor for complex parenting assessments whilst maintaining high personal accountability. • Develop strong positive and effective working relationships with parents, children, and wider family members. • Conduct one-to-one and groupwork sessions. • Develop and model positive behaviour by addressing risky family behaviours to reduce risks to children. • Deliver agreed work plans with families in the centre and promote evidence-based practices in direct work, utilising evidence-based parenting assessment programs. • Assess and manage risks to ensure children's and families' safety, monitoring residents' risk and informing management as needed. • Collaborate with colleagues from statutory, voluntary, and community sectors to deliver high-quality family services. • Engage in regular, reflective, and structured case and personal supervision sessions. General: • Promote equality and diversity by interpreting and applying relevant legislation and policies. • Foster a non-discriminatory culture supporting individual rights and eliminating discriminatory practices through anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practices. • Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Qualifications and Education: • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare and or Health and Social Care or other relevant qualification, or willingness to undertake this qualification. Experience: • Experience working with children and families. • Previous experience of working in a residential setting (desirable). Knowledge and Understanding: • Good understanding of safeguarding and protection of children and young people. • Understanding of policies and procedures related to running a residential family centre. Skills and Abilities: • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to plan, record, and evaluate work through documentation and written reports. • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with families and colleagues. • Ability to ensure continuity of safeguarding and support for children and families. • Ability to manage stress and complex dynamics and demonstrate emotional resilience. • Ability to deal with complex family issues and manage volatile and unpredictable behaviour. Personal Qualities and Attributes: • Approachable, friendly, and a good team player. • Positively motivated and able to work under pressure. • Ability to prioritise workload effectively. • Understanding of the need for confidentiality. • Warmth and sensitivity to family members and their needs. • Ability to work flexibly, including unsociable hours, weekends, evenings, and overnight shifts. • Commitment to continuous professional development and training. • Honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
