Job summary- The safe administration of systemic anticancer therapy (SACT) and supportive care in an outpatient setting.
- To act as a professional role model, leading and co-ordinating the nursing team on allocated shifts.
- To support the Senior and Junior sisters as required and to deputise for them if needed.
- To work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Staff Nurse to join the team on the Trevor Howell Oncology Day Unit, on a full time post (37.5 hours/week).
The successful applicants will join a highly skilled specialist team that offer treatments including SACT and supportive therapies to patients with solid tumours as well as malignant haematological conditions.
The candidate will ideally possess a recognised chemotherapy course and will need to have experience in administering SACT, in addition to having excellent venepuncture and cannulation skills, organisational, leadership, time management and communication skills.The post holder will be expected to provide and maintain high standards of care to our patients, meeting trust values, be able to work autonomously as well as part of a cohesive team and demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to this group of patients.
You will need to be able to work well under pressure and cope with conflicting demands.
