The post holder will be responsible for supporting and developing clinical leadership and practice within the in-patient unit, providing expertise and support as required working work closely with the Matron / Operational manager to ensure an effective and high-quality service provision including the unit environmental standards.
The post holder will have a specific focus on ensuring that service users and their carers receive care in high quality, safe environments at all times and will support the development and implementation of a range of strategies to support and underpin this goal.
The post holder will lead on training for the service, supporting managers to develop staff. The post holder will be responsible for supporting compliance with training, developing and delivering training on occasions, and will support the local training program for newly qualified nurses.
Core hours will be 9-5, however, there may be occasions when it is necessary to work outside these hours. The post holder will also participate in the local on call manager rota, which in exceptional circumstances may involve attendance out of hours to support junior staff with serious incidents.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2x enthusiastic, motivated and creative clinical leads for Meadowbrook inpatient unit. Following an investment for safer staffing, Meadowbrook unit are investing in two clinical leads to cover two wards each to provide clinical leadership, work alongside the MDT with complex cases and support the ward manager in the development of wellbeing of staff.
Meadowbrook is a 67 bedded unit on the site of Salford Royal Hospital for adults of working age that has 2x male acute wards, 1x female acute ward and 1x male psychiatric intensive care unit. It is a dynamic and fast paced environment that offers a challenge, with a high level of support.
You will ensure staff commitment evidence-based practice and ensure the delivery of a quality service .
You will have the necessary skills to lead, support colleagues, and be visible and accessible to staff across all of the wards.
The post holder must hold a current nursing qualification (RMN) and have demonstrable post registration experience in an acute inpatient setting.
You will also have experience of designing and running QI projects and in coordinating and delivering training.
The post requires excellent clinical skills in risk assessment as meaningful analysis, care planning and delivering evidence based interventions, as well as a keen interest in all aspects of acute inpatient mental health service provision.
