Job summary***Requires MRCP Registration***
The successful candidate will be joining a well organised department providing a wide range of services at specialty and sub-specialty level. We work together collaboratively and supportively, and we are always looking to improve the care for frail, elderly patients across the organisation.
The continued expansion and development of quality services within the department and the Trust is essential and has the support of senior management and the executive team and we are working with colleagues in other specialties and in other settings in order to achieve this.
Main duties of the jobThe over-riding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.
You will be expected to undertake the following duties:
- Provision of a service to Sherwood Forest Hospitals, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department
- the post holder is expected to contribute towards the teaching and training of medical students
- participating in medical audit, the Trust's Clinical Governance processes and in CPD
About usWe have close working relationships with community teams and primary care, and we have been successful in creating effective pathways for our patients in order to improve their care and experience across the healthcare system.
Existing services have been recently assessed by GIRFT and formal feedback was excellent. The Front Door frailty service, the collaborative work with the community and impressive results in relation to improved flow and length of stay were highlighted as being examples of good practice.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential - Full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice
- MRCP
Experience Essential - Must have completed at least 4 years full time postgraduate training at least 1 of which must be in Medicine specialties
Desirable - Current experience of working within the NHS
Audit Essential - Completed at least one audit project related to General Medicine
